The baby has changed quite a bit from two weeks ago. It used to look like a little blob, and now we can see the beginnings of a person. The head is quite large, but you can make out a forehead, eye sockets and a nose. It is still curled up slightly, but the spine should straighten out in a day or two.
When the tech first moved the wand around, we saw the baby move on it's own, it was so exciting! The heartbeat was strong. A little faster than last time at 179 bpm, but the tech said it would slow down in a little bit.

We also met with the doctor. He went over some diet guidelines with me. He also talked about some optional tests (one for Down Syndrome and Trisomy 18, the other for Cystic Fibrosis). The doctor said that these tests are not conclusive. In other words, it only tells you the baby's risk, not a definate positive or negative for the condition. We decided not to do the tests, because we knew that the results would not affect our decision to keep the baby (we wouldn't terminate for any reason). We also decided we wouldn't want to stress ourselves out for 9 months.
In other news, we have decided to tell everyone about the baby. Hopefully in a few days I'll be making this blog public.
