Week 9 : Olive (sadly, no martini to go with it)

Today, I say goodbye to week 9 and hello to week 10. I'm feeling anxious, nervous and excited as I think about my appointments next week. On Monday, I'll be having an appointment with the nurse: getting bloodwork, exams, family history, pap, etc. Not really that fun. Thursday, however, is a big deal. It will be my second (first official) ultrasound and meeting with my OB. My last ultrasound was amazing, and I know the baby will have developed significantly in two weeks. I'm just praying for peace from God, and trying not to think about all the things that could have gone wrong since my last appointment.

As far as symptoms go, fatigue seems to be the big one for me. I have never been a morning person, but usually once I get in the shower I'm good go to. Not anymore! I feel like I'm dragging myself through the day, and when I finally go home I end up crashing on the couch for an hour or two only to go to bed a few hours later.

Today seems to be a good day for me: soreness, a little fatigue. Not much else. I had some heartburn last night, but I blame that on the leftover buffalo chicken dip I scarfed down when I got home. It was so worth it. :)

Baby's now the size of a green olive!
Your little embryo has now officially graduated to fetus-hood. Adding to the excitement, a Doppler ultrasound device might be able to pick up the beating heart. With basic physical structures in place and increasingly distinct facial features, baby is kind of starting to look like...well...a baby!
