update to earlier

Soo ... after my little emotional meltdown, I decided to call the doctor's office. After all, we (and the insurance company) are paying them big bucks for this whole thing, they can answer a question for me, right?

The nurse was very kind. She took down my information, spoke with the doctor and the doctor said he wanted to see me for a sonogram today. Naturally, I was so nervous. I made the appointment over lunch and then didn't feel like eating anything. Harry was so good and went with me to the appointment.

I got there, filled out some paper work and they gave me an internal sonogram. We saw the "little peanut" (as the tech called it) measuring around 7 1/2 - 8 weeks. Right on time! We also got to see the heartbeat (160) and Harry squeezed my hand so hard. I could tell how excited he was, now that we could actually see the baby.

Let me tell you, the whole thing was very surreal.

I know I have a few weeks before I'm out of the 1st trimester "woods", but it was so reassuring to know that our baby is alive and growing strong. I'm so excited to tell our parents this weekend - and now we have the pictures to prove it.
